Member at Large - Volunteer Board of Directors Vacancy

Hempfield recCenter Volunteer Board of Directors VACANCY

 Hempfield recCenter Board of Directors has one “member at large” vacancy starting in January 2019.  Board of Directors is seeking an individual with experience in fundraising, capital campaign, marketing, development, and/or strategic planning. If you have an interest in serving on our board of directors, this is a unique opportunity to give back and volunteer for a dynamic, non-profit organization.

The individual that is selected will serve a three-year term.

Custodial Technicians - Part-Time

Custodial Technicians are responsible for keeping the Hempfield recCenter clean and safe at all times.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting etc.
  • Maintaining courts, fitness areas, meeting rooms, and offices to the highest standard of safety and cleanliness
  • Use of cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, sweepers, vacuums, etc.
  • Provide outstanding customer service

Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work evening and weekend hours
  • Janitorial cleaning experience necessary
  • Must have Child Abuse and Criminal Clearances or willing to obtain upon hire

Approximately 20 hours per week.

Maintenance Technician - Part-Time

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing minor repairs throughout the facility including minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical work
  • Painting
  • Performing maintenance on tennis courts, fitness equipment, gymnasium floor and other recreation center elements
  • Operating equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, etc.
  • Provide outstanding customer service

Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work evening and weekend hours
  • Maintenance experience necessary
  • Must have Child Abuse and Criminal Clearances or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Approximately 15–20 hours per week.

SAC - Before- and After-School Support Staff

Our before- and after-school program in the Hempfield School District is seeking fun and dedicated people who are passionate about children. If you are looking for a fun way to gain experience for a future career in education or just love working with children, this is the job for you! We offer flexible shifts and can work around your schedule.

Qualifications: 

• Must be at least 18 years old;

• Must have clearances (child abuse, criminal, and FBI) or willing to get upon hire;

• CPR/First Aid certification or willing to get upon hire.

Education/Experience Qualifications: 

• GED or High School diploma AND 2 years documented experience working with children Or a BA in education (or working towards);

• Two reference letters documenting suitability to work with children is required.

Other Qualifications: 

• Employee must get a physical and TB test upon hire;

• Various training must be done upon hire and throughout employment.

Part-Time Front Desk Customer Service Representatives

•  Applicants should be able to operate in a fast-paced environment, be able to adequately operate and navigate a computer system and should possess the ability to multitask.

•  At least one year of experience in customer service preferred.

•  Should be available for daytime hours. Willingness to work weekends a must.

•  High school degree or equivalent preferred.

• Must have clearances (child abuse, criminal, and FBI) or willing to get upon hire;

• CPR/First Aid certification or willing to get upon hire.
