As with many organizations, Hempfield recCenter has been significantly impacted by the closures and restrictions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. These limitations, however, have not deterred Hempfield recCenter staff from finding creative and innovative approaches to serving our community. While our doors were closed and membership fees suspended, we continued to offer online fitness options and outdoor programs free of charge to our community—no membership required.
Our staff has a great sense of pride in what they do and the resiliency to find ways to keep our doors open and our programs operating. During these difficult times, Hempfield recCenter reopened in June to provide childcare options for essential workers with our Summer Day Camp and Summer Playground programs and, when permitted, scaled up operations to provide recreation opportunities, youth programs, fitness classes, and senior activities, to name a few. With increased costs to provide the safest possible environment, many sacrifices have been made to provide the services our community relies upon.
To sustain our operations and continue to address the pandemic’s challenges, we are seeking your help. The Extraordinary Give provides an opportunity for our community to support the work of Hempfield recCenter. Please consider donating on Friday, November 20th.
Help Hempfield recCenter make our community EXTRAORDINARY!
