Fireflies and the Night Sky
Fireflies produce their glow through the chemical reaction of luciferin, luciferase, adenosine triphosphate and oxygen in a process known as bioluminescence that emits barely any of the energy as heat. Learn more about this night time insect and take a glance at the night sky during this night hike.

Yoga in the Park
Each Saturday class is open to everyone in the community and includes yoga poses along with breathing and relaxation exercises to cultivate a calm mind while increasing strength and flexibility.
New to yoga? This is a great opportunity to try it. Participants must bring their own mat, towel and water.

Pickleball at Fairview Park
Fairview Park in West Hempfield Township offers five pickleball courts and unlimited first-come, first-serve use!
You must purchase a pickleball membership for a small fee.
All levels are welcome.
Setup/takedown nets on your own – nets provided.
Bring your own balls and paddle.
Balls are available for purchase at the Hempfield recCenter front desk.

West Hempfield Township, Lancaster County Disc Golf Club and Hempfield recCenter constructed an 18-hole disc golf course at Fairview Park.
