Charlie Parker, a Millersville University All American and Hall of Fame inductee and a former professional basketball player brings to Hempfield recCenter the all-new CrunchTime Hoops basketball camp! Players will practice skill development ranging from fundamentals to pro-level scoring moves. Players will be pushed in drills including ball handling, footwork, scoring, passing, defense, and shooting techniques. Games and competitions provide a fun, competitive atmosphere all week long! Counselors include current and former collegiate players and coaches. Intermediate to advanced players.

Two, one-week long camps are designed to help juniors improve their all-around tennis game. At the conclusion of each camp, we will hold a USTA junior tournament for juniors in the surrounding area. Campers that are USTA members will receive free entry into that Tournament.

Rhythmic Gymnastics - ages 5-12Register for Rhythmic Gymnastics
Instructors: Ken Brennan and Coach Ashley Ogle
An Olympic sport which combines graceful movement with athletic displays of strength. It involves tumbling, ballet and the manipulation of apparatus including ball, hoop, ribbon, clubs, and rope. Classes are ongoing. Returning students will advance to Junior Olympics Level 3 curriculum.
Students should wear gymnastics (sport) leotards with no leggings or shoes. Rhythmic gymnastics shoes are recommended but not required for beginners. Instead, clean low ankle socks may be brought to class for the dance portions but should not be worn at the start of class.

Learn the fundamentals of the sport in a non-competitive league. Players are assigned to teams based on their age and size. Opportunity is given to experience all positions on the field. Each team practices/scrimmages for 1-1/2 hours per week.

40th Year Anniversary!
An ongoing tradition since 1978! Hempfield recCenter’s longest-running program fills your child’s summer vacation with supervised activities at your neighborhood playground. The eight-week program gets kids outdoors, engaged and active! Each week is a different preplanned theme that includes organized games and sports plus optional pool parties and field trips!
Monday–Friday 9:00 am–3:30 pm for eight weeks.
Four sites: A Herr Park • Mountville Park • Silver Spring Park • East Pete Park
Registration must be made in person with the attached registration form.
Registrations received after May 25th will be charged an additional $10 fee.
Field trips and pool parties are available for an additional cost.
Children must be registered for Playground to attend field trips.
Financial assistance is available.

Campers are divided into age groups with planned activities including arts & crafts, indoor and outdoor sports, games and themed events. Optional activities (additional fees) include swimming, sports camps, field trips and more! Campers must have completed PreK to 7th grade in 2017–2018 to be eligible.
$50 per family registration fee; full time $170/week; 3-day $130/week; 2-day $95/week
