Charlie Parker, a Millersville University All American and Hall of Fame inductee and a former professional basketball player brings to Hempfield recCenter the all-new CrunchTime Hoops basketball camp! Players will practice skill development ranging from fundamentals to pro-level scoring moves. Players will be pushed in drills including ball handling, footwork, scoring, passing, defense, and shooting techniques. Games and competitions provide a fun, competitive atmosphere all week long! Counselors include current and former collegiate players and coaches. Intermediate to advanced players.

Need to run evening errands without the kids? If so, drop your children off at the A. Herr Dream Park and we’ll watch them for you with our trained playground staff supervising! Rhythmic Gymnastics - ages 5-12, all levels welcomeRegister for Rhythmic Gymnastics
Instructors: Ken Brennan and Coach Ashley Ogle
An Olympic sport which combines graceful movement with athletic displays of strength. It involves tumbling, ballet and the manipulation of apparatus including ball, hoop, ribbon, clubs, and rope. Classes are ongoing. Returning students will advance to Junior Olympics Level 3 curriculum.
Students should wear gymnastics (sport) leotards with no leggings or shoes. Rhythmic gymnastics shoes are recommended but not required for beginners. Instead, clean low ankle socks may be brought to class for the dance portions but should not be worn at the start of class.

Players are introduced to the game of basketball through practice drills and organized scrimmages. The focus is on learning and experiencing the game in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. Players will be grouped into teams and assigned a parent volunteer/coach. Concentration is placed on practicing ball handling, dribbling, passing, and shooting. The first four weeks of the program will be one-hour team practices. The remaining four weeks will be scheduled scrimmages against the other teams in the program. A time clock will run, but no scoring will be kept. A detailed schedule will be given out at the coaches’ meeting and distributed to all participants and their parents.
Volunteer Coaches are NEEDED and greatly appreciated!

NEW in 2018! Is your child considering a babysitting job? If so, it’s important for her or him to know that the job comes with some significant responsibilities.
This six-hour class includes training on safety, maintaining discipline, feeding, and emergency situations. Participants will receive a CPR certification as part of the course if they pass the required test.
Lunch will be provided.

Inviting youth, ages 6–13, to join in our summertime fun! This popular, eight-week program gets kids outdoors, engaged and active! Held at local parks throughout the Hempfield school district area, our program offers oodles of outdoor play, organized games, sports, pool parties, plus optional field trips.

Hempfield recCenter Summer Day Camp

Register now for our popular Summer Day Camp. Campers must have completed Kindergarten up to 7th grade in 2018 in order to be eligible.
Day campers are divided into age groups with planned activities including arts & crafts, indoor and outdoor sports, games and themed events. Optional activities include swimming, sports camps, weekly field trips and more!
• M–F, day after school ends—Aug 17 (No camp 7/4), 7 am–6 pm
• Registration fee: $50 per family
• Weekly tuition for two-, three-, or five-day options
• Open to Hempfield residents and non-residents (slight upcharge to non-residents)
