Day 6 Recap:
Day 6 of the Koser Jewelers Tennis Challenge saw the conclusion of second round and Quarterfinal main draw matches. The semifinals will begin tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. with the finals set to commence no earlier than 1:00 p.m.
The sunny day started off strong with Katrina Scott (USA), defeating No. 1 seed, Renata Zarazua (MEX) in a three set battle, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Another notable result from today’s match play was Olivia Gadecki (AUS) coming straight from the Olympics, beating Alexandra Eala (PHI) in a three set match up 6-1, 0-6, 6-3.
Nearly 120 USTA members showed up to celebrate USTA Member Appreciation Day, along with numerous USTA League captains who were also on hand for the rescheduled Captain Appreciation event. Middle States’ Central Pennsylvania District (CPD) celebrated its district award ceremony, welcoming district and section award winners on stadium court.
