School-age Childcare

Working families, we have you covered! Our supervised before- and after-school programs provide care for students in grades K to 6 at each elementary school in the Hempfield School district Monday through Friday, when school is in session. This program is licensed by the Dept. of Human Services.

  • Morning Sessions 6:30am to 8:40am (includes breakfast and indoor/outdoor activities)
  • Afternoon Sessions 3:30pm to 6:00pm (includes breakfast and indoor/outdoor activities)

KID’s CORNER

Families are a big part of Hempfield recCenter. That’s why we offer FREE childcare to our members while they workout and re-energize. Let us keep the kids safe and entertained while you exercise.

Parents or legal guardians must remain on-site and be accessible at all times. Our Kids Corner is restricted to dependents of members only.

Kids’ Corner Hours:

Monday – Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00 pm
Monday – Thursday: 5:00pm – 8:00 pm

There is a 2 hours time limit for ages 18 months+. Infant care is unavailable.

PRESCHOOL

LANDISVILLE EARLY LEARNING CENTER

A Partnership Between Landisville Mennonite Church & Hempfield recCenter

A warm, affordable, play‑based preschool experience for children ages 3–5 beginning September 1, 2026 through May 28, 2027.

Weekly rates begin at $50.

Beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year, our Early Learning Center offers a nurturing, community‑focused environment where children grow socially, emotionally, academically, and physically. Caring educators from Hempfield recCenter lead a whole‑child curriculum inside a welcoming classroom at Landisville Mennonite Church.

Location: Landisville Mennonite Church
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:15–11:45 AM
Ages: 3–5 years

Our play‑based curriculum supports:

  • Cognitive Development
    Hands‑on activities that build curiosity and problem‑solving skills.
  • Social & Emotional Growth
    Cooperative play, guided interactions, and confidence‑building routines.
  • Language Development
    Storytime, songs, conversations, and vocabulary‑rich activities.
  • Physical Development
    Indoor and outdoor play that strengthens motor skills and healthy habits.
