Seniors are a vital part of our rec community, and we offer a wide variety of programs to meet this growing population. And these “senior” programs are not just for seniors! They’re an ideal start if you are just getting back into exercise and fitness, or even rehabbing an injury.

Check out our Senior Group Exercise class schedule – everything from chair yoga and balance to cardio and classic workouts. Morning, afternoon and evening Aquatics and Water Aerobics classes in our heated, indoor pool are easy on the joints. Check out the pool schedule, updated monthly. Plus, check the Group Exercise schedule for other classes – all ages, new challenges and lots of fun.

Senior Group Exercise Class Descriptions

A gentle class using adapted yoga poses with a chair. This class cultivates awareness and deep relaxation through meditation, breath work, and gentle stretches all without the stress of getting up and down off the floor. Move through seated and standing yoga poses to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion.

This class is designed to teach you balance, agility and posture techniques.  The walking, balance, agility and core work of the class enable you to gain more stability in your everyday life.

Elevate your heart rate and get your blood pumping with low impact aerobic movements and progressive intensity options. Senior Cardio is specifically designed for the active older adult, but all ages are welcome!

A great beginner level exercise class that focuses on giving you a functional full body workout. Perform seated and standing exercises to improve range of motion, to build strength, and to increase balance and flexibility with everyday activities. Senior Classic is specifically designed for the active older adult, but all ages are welcome!

A great beginner/intermediate level exercise class that focuses on giving you a functional full body workout. Perform standing exercises to improve range of motion, to build strength, and to increase balance and flexibility with everyday activities. Senior Classic Plus is specifically designed for the active older adult, but all ages are welcome and is a step up in intensity from Senior Classic.

The Senior Circuit workout offers standing, low-impact choreography alternating with standing upper-body strength work using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a small ball. A chair is available for support. This class is suitable for every fitness level and can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants. Senior Circuit is specifically designed for the active older adult, but all ages are welcome!

Senior cycle is a 45 minute stationary bike workout for people who prefer a gentler ride. Ride and sing along to classic rock, Motown and country music as you improve your fitness.

This class focuses on building strength to perform everyday movements and improving your stability to maintain your balance while doing them. A mix of seated and standing exercises will be performed while developing your large muscle groups for strength, stability and overall fitness.

Using a combination of standing and floor stretches, as well as, different yoga poses, this class will help you to increase mobility, range of motion, and reduce tension across the body. If you have a yoga mat and/or knee pad please bring it along. We will be moving to the floor as we increase our flexibility and confidence!

Pound is a cardio jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing fun of playing the drums. This exhilarating full body workout combines cardio, conditioning and strength training with Yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered for exercise, Pound transforms drumming into an effective way of working out.

Senior Pound is a low to medium intensity cardio class, specifically designed for the active older adult, and the beginner participant, but all ages are welcome! Senior Pound participants will utilize Pound choreography and techniques, both standing and in a chair.

Dance-inspired moves specifically choreographed to Latin and international dance rhythms for the active older adult, the beginner participant and other special populations that enjoy uncomplicated, easy-to-follow dance routines. New dance moves are added often, keeping you motivated while challenging your cognitive skills. The perfect, mind/body synergy!

Group exercise classes are included free with fitness membership.
