PA Blue Birds Program is a nature initiative to preserve and protect the Eastern Bluebird population in Pennsylvania. The program educates the public about the importance of bluebirds and their natural habitats while promoting conservation efforts. Lancaster County Naturalist will lead this program at Amos Herr Park in East Hempfield Township.
Optional Bluebird Box Building is a hands-on activity where participants build a bluebird house (nest boxes) to provide safe nesting spaces for these birds. The boxes are designed to attract bluebirds and offer them a secure environment for raising their young, especially as natural cavities in trees have become less common. This activity supports the overall goal of boosting bluebird populations by providing suitable habitats
