Meet our Trainers – Jaxson Smith

Background & Experience:

Having danced for 13 years, fitness and wellness were familiar concepts. At 15, I began cooking, sparking my interest in nutrition. After graduating from Hempfield High School in May 2023, I pursued a career in health and wellness. By October 2023, I obtained certifications in personal training and nutrition from the International Sports Sciences Association. I started coaching online clients, providing fitness and nutrition guidance for six months.

Why a career in health & wellness?

During the 2020 shutdown, I switched to home workouts, initially following YouTube videos before creating my own routines. This spurred me to delve into body mechanics and weightlifting benefits. Upon gym reopening, I embraced it for four years, cultivating a passion. I’m eager to assist newcomers in overcoming workout anxieties, discovering enjoyable exercises, and fostering a welcoming gym environment.

What do you do for fun?

Outside the gym, I work as a cook at a hotel, where I love exploring the impact of various cooking methods on the body. Dancing has been a lifelong passion, performing around Lancaster since graduating.
Post-workout, I often grab a bite at Chipotle. I share my home with two dogs: Ginger, an eight-year-old mix, and Tucker, an eight-month-old golden. I enjoy taking them for walks and runs when weather is warm.

Favorite exercise?

My favorite exercise would have to be pistol squats. I love to try calisthenic (body weight) exercises!

Favorite muscle group to work out?

My favorite muscle groups to workout would be my triceps and shoulders.
